Gas Giants

I came home for this? From the Times-Pic:

Nagin hypes new initiatives in optimistic speech

Sketching out an optimistic vision of New Orleans' future and trumpeting recovery progress so far, Mayor Ray Nagin touted plans…blah blah blah blah blah

Which sounds a lot like this from an older Times-Pic

Optimistic Nagin pledges city's return

Offering unbridled optimism about a resilient New Orleans, Mayor Ray Nagin on Wednesday highlighted what he described as his administration's myriad successes since Hurricane Katrina… blah blah blah blah blah

Seriously, before anyone gets the idea of fisking or writing some kind of ‘response’ to this territorial feces-hurling and elaborate series of grunts that just emanated from C Ray’s mouth, please realize it really isn’t worth it...2010...2010.

They just attempted to cover this farce on the local news, and when he said something about the CBD's recovery throwing up numbers that hadn't been seen in town since the oil boom, the reporter pointed out that the amount of available office space is smaller than it was pre-storm, so this kind of boosterism had to be taken with a grain of salt.

2010, indeed, unless, as Edwin Edwards once said, the Walking Id is caught with a live boy or a dead girl.
